Jackson Heights may seem like any typical neighborhood in Queens, but what many people don't know is that Jackson heights is home to a large hispanic community, many of which range from Venezuelans, Argentinians, Colombians, etc. Jackson Height flourish with the hispanic environment as there is something for everyone to do there.

There are many places to eat in 82 street one of them is a restaurant called Pio Pio, which is contains authentic Peruvian Cuisine. Some of the food that they serve are Pollo a la Brasa, which means "Rotisserie Chicken". They also serve papa a la huancaina, causa limeña, lomo saltado. And other foods you need to see for yourselves. There's also a wide range of Columbian, Uruguayan, and Mexican bakeries that will sure make your day. They sell a lot of coffees, sweets and some small Latin snacks. Just don't forget to buy empanadas!
Explore the many stores that are there
There are plenty of stores to shop from in Jackson Heights. Other than the restaurants and the tons of places to eat, there are many salons that are available as well as clothing stores you can go venture to. There are some name Brand stores available like Gap, Children's Place, and more. Then there are some small business that will sell clothes for a cheap price.
Traditions in the area
Many people in Jackson Heights, or specifically the hispanic community celebrate their independence days of their own countries. Some people go around parading in the colors of their countries flags. there is also a sense of community when people watch a score game together. Some of them may give a discount in their stores so be on the look out. Usually when the World Cup is on the people in the area go to any restaurant they can to watch the game. Sometimes if the team of one country wins there will be a whole parade outside with people honking horns from their cars. Others are running around waving their flags and honking their air horns.
